Koromantyn Tops the ReverbNation National Charts

reverbnation_900x700

In my post called Etana Moves into #1 Spot on ReverbNation National Charts, I talked at length about the possibility of signed artists dominating the ReverbNation Charts because of their access to more resources and an established offline fan base. I still believe its possible, however the last few weeks have taught me something about the new paradigm or approach to music called Music 2.0. Its all about the work you put in. The playing field has definitely leveled somewhat.

I say this, because at that point in time I thought that it would take me two-three (2-3) months to take the top spot. So much for that, more like WEEKS! My growth rate skyrocketed from  an average of about 50 to 85 points per day within the last week or so.

It's obvious that I couldn't have done this by myself. As such, I would like to thank all the fans, friends, Street Team members, and all the other people who have been listening to my music and visiting my ReverbNation profile for their support. The fact that my band was featured on ReverbNation last week also contributed greatly to my accession to the top of the charts.

My ReverbNation Stats Summary - Mar. 02, 2009

As you can see from the image above, I have not only moved in to the Number One spot on the National Charts (Across All genres - World/ Reggae, Hip Hop, etc.), I have also entered the Top 100 Hip Hop and Top 500 Artists categories.

If you've been following my progress you will appreciate how far I've come. However, If this is you're first time reading a post here on my blog, please take the time out to look through the posts in the ReverbNation Charts category. Especially Understanding the ReverbNation Band Equity Charts as this post explains how the charts work.

I'm actually humbled by this achievement and as such I resisted the temptation to publish this post too soon, just in case it was only a random blip on my radar. However, I have continued to grow steadily since then so I'm now focusing my efforts on maintaining this position for as long as possible. I will continue to work hard as I want to set a new benchmark for emerging Jamaican Artists/ bands.

I would like to take the game to another level by increasing my score to 4750 points over the next three (3) months. This will place me among the Top 100 Bands Globally (all genres). I know it sounds a bit ambitious but what the heck, we can do it! I plan to use this leverage to do some personal advocacy here in Jamaica, geared at getting the mass media to pay more attention to emerging artists and the technologies they use to promote their music.

Please continue to support my music, as we cannot achieve the above mentioned goals without your support. Keep playing the songs and Remember to subscribe to this blog to receive our updates via RSS feed or Email. Feel free to explore the blog and leave your comments so that I can make improvements as necessary. Thanks again.
